About

anixonA little bit about Andy. He was born Andrew Nixon, Jr. but called “Sonny.” At age five when he was about to begin school, his parents gave him the middle name of Richard, as Richard Nixon had just won his first major election in California and Andy’s (Sonny’s) parents thought a lad who was to be successful in life needed to have a middle name. Thus he added a middle name and lost the, Jr.

As he progressed through high school he became known as Andy by his peers but Sonny by his relatives. If he was confused by his multitude of names, he was overwhelmed to discover that no matter how much he learned in school, no matter how much information he retained, his grades in school were marginal at best. Thus began his journey into the shady realm of grades.

His academic pursuits through adulthood are chronicled in his memoir, 50 Shades of Grades, My Journey Through Wacademia.

The author’s latest book, Three Lives of Peter Novak tells the story of a boy born into poverty, who becomes an accidental and unknown hero.

Andy lives in Las Vegas with his wife Pat and Ragdoll cat, Cali.
